Japan AE Power Receives Order for Gas Insulated Switchgear
for the Republic of Poland
Japan AE Power Systems Corporation (President: Takashi Kano; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter gAE Powerh) has recently received an order from state-owned Polish power company, PSE Operators S.A. (Headquarters: Warsaw, Poland; hereinafter gPSEh), for gas insulated switchgear (GIS) equipment to be installed in an electric power substation to be built in the suburbs of the city of Warsaw. This is the first time for AE Power to supply its products to a customer in Europe.
The order, with a total amount of approximately JPY500 million and scheduled to be completed and delivered in March 2009, covers 13 units of 110kV 40kA GIS to be manufactured and transported via sea freight to Poland by AE Power.
Since its accession to the European Union (EU) in May 2004, the Republic of Poland has been active in introducing foreign capitals and achieved a steady GDP growth exceeding 6% per annum. Based on economic growth, the country is rapidly developing and modernizing its social infrastructures.
Modernization of electric substations is a part of the infrastructure development project of Poland. In cooperation with a long associated local trading company, AE Power made presentations to PSE, which is advancing forward with such modernization projects. Once the quality of AE Powerfs products was fully understood, it was awarded with a contract to supply its GIS to Europe for the first time in its history.
While PSE is planning to build additional electric substations in the future, AE Power is going to continue its sales activities to the Republic of Poland and expand same to other European countries so that it may continually receive orders for electric power station and substation equipment and contribute to the development of social infrastructures in Europe.
